Onan problem

I bought a used onan model 4.0 BF-3CR16000B. It started right up in the old RV. Now it will blow fuse F2, I replace the fuse and it starts, runs my 13amp saw just fine.I shut it off and then it won't start because F2 is blown.
Can anyone help with this?
Thanks
Dave

Check to see what's on F-2, that's the normal one to blow. I've had mine blow when I'm really cranking heaters. The front roof AC is on F-2, also.

Thanks for the reply but that's not it.This is on the floor in my shop not hooked to anything. The F2 fuse is built into the control panel with the start-stop switch. This is a fuse not a circuit breaker. Also this thing is at least 10 years old.Probably closer to 20 years

Darn good long life unit with care.. Have a dc welder with the same concept with 15,000+ hours..

I had problems much like you and I woke up one day and saw that the battery cable was shorted to the gen frame..
