New Solar & Batteries Install
We spent a fantastic week in Spring Branch, TX right in the middle of the hill country at the end of January. The weather couldn't have been nicer and there's so many state parks, wineries, and lots of fun things to do with the dogs.
We used RVsolarsolutions.com for our solar and lithium upgrade. Greg Young is the owner and Bill Murray did the install. We stayed at Spring Branch RV Park (right on 281) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Most days we left around 10:00 to do our adventures. Bill usually showed up around 8:30 and stayed till around 4:30 or 5:00. He is a great guy, extremely knowledgeable, and has been great with all of my post purchase questions.
We took a stock 2018 25FBT and added 6, 100 watt panels to the roof (maxed out) 3, 200ah LifeBlue Lithium batteries and a Magnum 3000 watt hybrid inverter. Also, Victron battery monitor and Victron MPPT solar charger. (We enjoy getting off-grid out west) . The batteries and inverter went in the front storage compartment and the solar charger and battery monitor in the forward port (left) storage. We still have plenty of storage in the port side compartment but I'm not putting anything else in the forward compartment. I always hated the front storage compartment, anyway- too difficult to access.
Temperature does not seem to be a problem. Lows in the 20s and the battery temps are mid fifties.
Anyway, couldn't be happier. I had tried to go with a well known Airstream Installer but he stopped corresponding with me after a few emails. Business must be good. So I emailed AM Solar and they sent me their list of approved installers.
It's probably overkill for our little rig but it makes me happy!
Cheers,
