My Solar and LiFePo Install
Hello. I just finished the installation of solar and converting to LiFePo batteries on our 2005 30 foot Classic. The components I got for this install were all from Renogy. The solar system was their 400 watt package that included a 40 A MPPT controller/charger that is Lithium capable. The system also came with the appropriate fuses and a Bluetooth monitor system. The batteries (2) were their 100 AH batteries with the monitor panel.
I connected all four solar panels in series and used the 10 AWG Yellow/Green solar pre-wire that came in the trailer. Everything installed well, just took some time.
In 2012 I installed an Iota DLS-55 multi-stage converter/charger (CC) to replace the OEM unit that cooked one of our batteries. I contacted Iota asking if this converter/charger would work for the new lithium batteries. Since my Iota unit included the built in IQ4 that is for lead-acid charging profile, I had to get a new CC. I got the exact same unit without IQ4 then got the IQ LiFePo module that plugs into the CC for lithium batteries. All is good now!
Here is a picture of the panel installation...
