Generator tray

Hi. I have a 2016 Bambi sport 22'. I picked up a 100# generator. The tongue weight for my Bambi is 393#. Does have any experience using this type of storage tray on there Trailer? Pro/cons.
Thank you.Click image for larger version

Is that a Stromberg Carlson. It looks sturdy. What is the specified weight limit? Do you ever hit big bumps?
We’re it cautious ol’ me, I would go for a Honda EU 2200, at about half the weight. With careful appliance management and a soft start on the AC, that’s all you need for your Bambi.

It’s better to carry your generator in/on your Tow Vehicle.
If you must carry it in/on your trailer...The lower you keep added weight the better. Weight added higher-up can exacerbate controllability issues.

Avoid carrying it in the rear of the trailer.

Even if that didn’t create a host of problems — would you really put that thing on your airstream?

Boy it’s an eyesore.

Opening of the front window will be compromised.

Aesthetics aside, additional tongue weight is probably not an issue.

The part that would concern me is the high center of gravity. That carrier is pretty tall — I wouldn’t feel comfortable having 100+ lbs that high up going down some of the rough roads we travel.

If you end up trying this, please let us know how it works for you.
