Where did you get that idea?
It says MADE IN JAPAN on the Honda generators.
Also, krappors are not honda copies.

Costco generators are FINE

Pul-eeeeee-ze stop with the "Hondas are the only generators to buy"!!
The Champion generator from Costco is half the price, just as quiet, starts every time, and is stackable and assembled in the U.S. (Honda engines are made in China, by the way.)
Did I mention it's half the price?
You put 'da gas in, pull 'da cord, and 'lectricity comes out, same as a Honda!!!

Hyundai has cheap generators at Walmart (in Canada anyway). There is a 2000 inverter and then some bigger models as well...

Anyone convert their Honda to propane?

Mine is red and a copy of a copy [maybe a Honeywell] and it works fine and cost less than half the cost of a Honda. I pull the rope and it makes juice. Sal.

Need help asap. I have a 2001 25 ft. Excella. I'm fulltiming. I'm south of Seattle. Going on 3rd day with no power. Last night the batteries stopped powering the propane heater. I need to know what kind of power and options I need for a generator. I would like to get a Honda. Thanks for your expertise.

Get a 2000 if you don't think you will need AC on the summer. Should be plenty to run your rig while the power is out.

A regular Honda 2000i has two regular household outlets...if you get one of those you will need a 15-amp to 30-amp adapter (see pic #1 below).

If you get a Honda 2000i Companion, it has one regular household outlet and one 30-amp twist-n-turn outlet...in that case you will need an adapter to convert the 30-amp female twist-n-turn on the generator to a regular 30-amp female so you can plug your shore power cord into it... (see Pic #2 below)...

Hi, I bought one of these 30 Amp RV adapters for my Yamaha. I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

Great...let us know if you have any more questions about the care and feeding of your generator! Good Luck!

In a pinch, without the time for a lot of shopping around, I would stick with red or blue,(Hon/Yam), at least 2000w.
Soundz like you have done the research here, great start!!!
I have had excellent results with both brands.
