PS: MircoAir website states that at or above 4000 feet, a 2000 watt generator may not not be adequate to run AC. The North Rim Grand Canyon is about 8000 feet....

The good news is at that elevation, you don't need AC!
We came out of Lake Havasu (105 degrees) and went to the grand canyon. It was 65 degrees during the day.

Lol Good point Turk! Right now I am Boondocking in Cedar City, Utah, 5800 ft elevation, and the AC works great with the 2200i and easy start.

Most likely if you have the amperage. With Easy Start I can run my A/C plugged into a 20 amp, 110 v circuit.

I ran the a/c on the Honda 2000 Companion today. I purchased a grounding plug from Micro Air, so I had no problems with using the Progressive Industries surge protector and, using it, was able to see the amp draw. Never got above 16A and I was able to run some lights and inverter. Overall, very pleased with all but the Texas heat. The temp in my truck was reading 107on the way to Costco.

I think the post recommended it to sniff the power cord from the generator to read the actual amps.

Okay, I hooked the EMS into the generator today for the first time. Will determine my AC draw. But what hit me right upfront is that my power converter is drawing 15 amps. Batteries were down to 11.9 so I guess that is near a maximum. It sure is higher than I thought it would be. Can that even be correct? Maybe I need to put in smaller converter? It is a 45 or 55 amp converter. I expected about a 6 or 7 amp draw at full load?

Dropped to 8 amps when voltage dropped to 13.6. About 15 amps when the voltage reads 14.5. Anyway this converter seems to draw a huge amount of power. I have to turn it off to run either the AC or the microwave when on generator. Converter is first thing I would check if one is short of power for the AC.

Eeeehhhh... not so fast. You'll be up in the mountains where the air is thinner. One Honda 2000 will definitely work at sea level, but may not at altitude. It's best not to strain one generator when you already have two.
Plus, with both you'll be able to run the AC along with the refrigerator and charge batteries. You'll also have a backup generator, too.

Yes! ...but use a good 30A to 20A adaptor, no extension cords, and the AC should be the only thing drawing power.
Also, check to make sure nothing back in the house is drawing significant power on the circuit.

Slightly disappointed at this point.

Check and make sure your fridge is on propane, I had my 2200 converted at Doswell also and that solve my problem.

I have a 120 volt ac outlet with 30 amp breaker for shore power, just like the KOA. Works great. If you have a 20 amp receptacle and a HD extension cord (10/3 w/ground) no longer than 100 ft that "might" work. Just make sure other stuff is off, water heater, fridge, converter--charger etc. It's always nice to be able to have air conditioner on when doing after long trip repairs inside.

Micro-Air says ANY generator will lose about 3.5% power per 1,000 feet and about 1% for every 10*F above 60*F. I've got an EU2200i that's going to be operating at close to 4,000 feet and 95*F in a couple of weeks. Gonna be right on the edge.

Instead, try giving the Predator 3500 inverter generator from Harbor Freight a chance. It gets great reviews, some of them from other camper users. Cost is less than half of the Honda 3000i, which isn't quite larger enough to run your a/c and refrigerator at the same time. The Predator 3500 will.
I plan on getting one soon to add options when a campsite is not available or convenient. Since I'm not retired yet, our AS is used for weekend and weekly travels and also a bugout vehicle if a hurricane comes this way. I need the flexibility that a quiet, not overly expensive but powerful enough inverter generator will give me. My old 5500amp Briggs and Stratton powered generator is way too loud!

Our Honda EU2200i runs the AC after installing the Micro-Air Easy Start...I mean we're getting plenty of cold air. Our EMS, however (Progressive Industries EMS-HW30C) shows voltage fluctuations of 116 to 121 and amperage fluctuations of 15-20 when the compressor kicks in. The gen noise is constant. Wonder what that's all about. All appliances OFF including converter.

Easy start and power management-battery charger?
I also installed my easy start. Went through the learning cycles and had it running once properly on my Honda 2000. Waterheater and fridge on gas and switch the breaker off of the converter.
But the second time ( during major rain- more resistance??) my Honda kept jumping into overload. Could it be my battery charger? How does one switch off the battery charger so you prevent charging batteries for the time being while using the AC? Or what else could be contributing to overload?

I think you need to switch off the converter. It draws a huge load of power when the batteries are down a little. Find the breaker for the converter and switch it off.
