Factory Solar Panels

Does anyone know the manufacturer of the factory installed solar panels, or the number of solar cells? These are the two 53watt panels. We have a FB27 2008, and we are going to add another panel to boost the output. However, we have to match the number of cells correctly; that is, however many cells the factory installed panels have, has to be the same on the new panel. At least, that is what we are told.

Thank you in advance.... Jeffrey

I believe the 53 Watt are Solarex?
This document may have some useful information for you.

If you have a concern about adding new panels to your existing system, just keep the new panels on a separate system with its own controller.

Let us know how you make out.

Cooney,

This may be late, but I just pulled off the 53W solar panel off my Interstate and would be happy to sell it to you if interested. I purchased the RV in October and it is like brand new. You can PM me off line at s.bolster@yahoo.com. Steve.

Just curious: Why did you pull it off?

Wouldn't mind adding that to our factory panels, but then what good is more panels without more battery capacity.

Happy to answer. I intend to do a significant amount of boondocking year round and use my Interstate to travel to dog events selling my new line of custom dog crates. I significantly upgraded my solar and battery capacity. There is a thread, " solar panel upgrades," that describes the new system. I not only have the solar panel, but I have two (2) lifeline 12 volt agm batteries, and the Magnum inverter 1020 (and 200 watt fuse)Click image for larger version

ID:	209568 available too. Only 6 months in usage. I'm very motivated to sell theses components at at 50% of what they cost.
