Expanding Factory Solar

I've been reading all of the threads on here and have not been able to find an answer to this question:

Can the factory installed solar (2014) be expanded with suitcase panels?

I understand the wiring to the existing roof panels is inadequate for more panels.

The factory solar is actually nearly enough for us most times. But I'd like to set up a connection to plug in some suitcase panels when we're boondocking for extended periods.

Without rehashing all of the commentary about how horrible the factory setup is, can Lew or BoldAdventure or someone else knowledgable offer an answer of how this could be accomplished?

Thanks for everyone's contributions to this forum, it's really an incredibly valuable resource.

I installed a pigtail from the front exterior to the controller, creating a parallel circuit. I use a supplementary ZAMP 160 watt suitcase solar setup (with disconnected attached controller). Here is a rough diagram:

Thanks for the reply Dznf0g! That's exactly what I was thinking could work. Are you still using the factory controller in this setup?

I didn't have a factory system. I have a Morningstar 15A SunSaver MPPT.
