Question EMS-HW50C + (2) paralleled Gens = E2 Open Ground

So today I installed an EMS-HW50C from Progressive Industries into our International. The install was a bit of a bear, working thick power cables was the worst of it. Anyway, checked and double checked all the connections and good-2-go! However....

...doing an EMS system check, I hooked up two Harbor Freight 3500W Predators (like a lot!) to the parallel adapter. Checked the Smart Plug before plugging in (blue light = good), but when I plug the Smart Plug into the Airstream, I get a blue + red light indicating an 'open ground.' Never had this happen before using the gens.

When I went into the airstream to read the EMS display, it displayed error code E2 (open ground - no ground wire connection) therefor the contactor is not engaging on the EMS to allow AC to flow.

How do I properly fix this issue? Do I have to use some sort of a N-G shorting plug between my shore power cable male end and the parallel adapter? Do I need one for a 50A and a 30A connection?

Thank you for the help.

Thanks for confirming! Nothing as frustrating as rechecking one's install, wondering if somewhere I disconnected a wire underneath the rabbit hole (behind distro panel) or some other self-induced failure. Nothing in any manual, whether for the generator or the EMS regarding floating/bonded ground. I guess I should chalk it up to a, "duh, didn't you know you needed this plug?"

Question. If running parallel, only one plug is needed and it doesn't matter which gen it is plugged into?

That’s right. Either one. If you have a spare plug you can make your own with a jumper wire. Cheaper.
