It doesn't get any easier than this (directly from the Champion website posted previously)
Need a replacement part? Call our customer service department at 1-877-338-0999

Their website also has helful videos, such as this one explaining how to repair a broken recoil starter rope:

I was looking hard at this one. The dual fuel doesn't really interest me, but the size and price are right.

Decisions, decisions....

We've used our Smarter Tools generator for a little over a year and have been happy with it. One of the reasons I choose it over the other off brands is that it has the Yamaha engine. Though at 2000 watts, it does not run the AC.

They have a gasoline-only version of the same generator. Check the website. You can buy from Costco and they'll ship to your door, usually free shipping.

Caution: Do not store ANY brand of generator with automobile/ethanol gasoline in the carburetors. It WILL ruin it.
Use non-ethanol w/stabilizer, or better yet, for long-term, ready-use storage, use aviation gasoline from your local airport. Just don't use that stuff in your auto.

[QUOTE=Naper;1842672 Its a small thing but the Yamaha has a fuel shut off (Honda may have it by now) To avoid any carb problems I shut off the gas and let it run out.[/QUOTE]

That is not a small thing, it's a distinct advantage, IMO.

Well, my plans have been thwarted. I took out the tape measure and measured my parking space, and it's 215" long. Not long enough for any 1/2 ton truck. So I'm stuck with my TV, and my plan of running a genny in the bed has been dashed.

But this has been an interesting discussion nonetheless. I'm still planning on buying a genny but now I'm not restricted by the 20" truck bed. But I'll have to take it out of my truck every time I want to use it, so weight becomes a factor.

Sigh.

I have a Champion 2000W unit and have been satisfied with the performance and noise level. I doubt that it would run my air conditioner and haven't tried. It was half the price of the similar sized Honda.

Thanks for the discussion. Generally we do not travel with a generator, but it would be nice to do some no hookup rally events. An inexpensive LPG powered generator that would run the AC coul be a deal maker. Travel safe. Pat

I ended up buying a gently used Honda 2000 and plan to convert it to LP using the Century conversion kit.

I've been running the Champion 3100 inverter for a year now. Sits in the bed of my pick up, plugged into the
front of my 2015 - 25FB. Couldn't be happier.......remote is great and runs the 15kw Dometic AC with no problem.
Want to turn off or start from the couch or bed, just hit the remote. $950.00 well spent.

Champion 2800 duel fuel is 20lbs heavier, contains start battery, 500 running watts better, 500.00 less cost and has a 30 amp plug. Compared to the Yamaha 2400 which doesn't but also a great unit.

I just ordered the Champion 2800 dual fuel mentioned by Vantair on sale at Costco.com for $850. Will report back in a couple of weeks!

We just ordered the higher watt Champion dual fuel version (model # 100263). It is suppose to do 3100W continuous and 3400 peak with gas. I think it was about 300 watts less output on propane. I have a Powerhorse 2000W, so I will do some comparisons between the two once it arrives. The dual fuel and low profile (only 3000+ inverter that I could find to fit under my bed cover) won me over.

Had my champion 3100W electric start for about 18months. It hasn't missed a beat. Highlight recommended.

Will probably convert to use propane in the near future...

I was surprised how good the reviews were by people that actually owned the Champions. I admit to originally wanting the Honda EU3000is, but it would not fit under my bed cover and I really like the propane option on the Champion from the factory.

Kudos to Airforums. I bought the generator in August and just saw that it was on sale. Costco is sending me a credit. I have not really run the generator yet.

Same results here. Costco cheerfully issued credit in September although bought in August (their own 30 day price guarantee policy) .
Have 7 happy hours on the gen so far.
(Another 150.00 worth of thanks out to Bourbonshot on forums who alerted us to the price drop!)

I bought a Champion 3500/4000 that included the optional wheel kit for $249.00 at Blains Farm and Fleet. I bought it to run power tools to repair my dock. However, I was thrilled when I could plug in my camper and run the A/C on two consecutive 90 degree days. Very happy customer!

Yamaha built in China

I had made up my mind to purchase a 2000 watt invertor generator and strongly leaning towards the Yamaha. I then read that they are now made in China, confirmed by an email to Yamaha. I also have read the Honda is being made in Taiwan, although I have not officially confirmed that. So I guess the search now will be for price, supported by consumer feedback. The Champion is looking like a better alternative, although there are several Chinese makes to choose from.
