Champion 3100w generator

anyone have any experience with this generator. It seems to have good reviews but was wondering if someone has used it.

I've heard it's loud & has problems regarding stale fuel left in the carborator, also made in China. Your better off biting the bullett & buying a Honda or Yamaha.

Champion 3100w generator

I have a 3,500 Champion. I think it is a good generator, and not bad on fuel use but it is loud.

It wasn't bad loud at first, but it got louder after a little use.

I still have it, but I ended up shelling out for a Yamaha 2400 ishc.

And fwiw, any generator carb will gum up if the bowl is not run dry.

Yup.. even Motorcycles and outboard engines..unless 'run dry', they have a huge issue, especially with the Krap fuel we are forced to use.. free country my arse...

The alcohol eats the fuel lines... the valve seats in the carb...and generally is just Krappy.

You can get good fuel at Marinas (often near camping areas)... and run generators off them..

There is another generator company in the US... they seem to have a good product and is just as cost effective as the Champion...and quieter.

I saw on one Youtube that an automotive muffler was added, then wrapped with sound deadening material, with the exhaust tube aimed down... seemed to make a huge difference.. the guy also does Decibel level readings..

I put a big car muffler on a generator I had mounted under my trailer for a time.

It made the exhaust near silent, but it was still a noisy son of a gun.

I understand the why of the enclosures on quiet generators....

If you search the forum you will see this genny has been discussed a lot. I have the remote start version and works great for me... Zero complaints.
