Battery bank location

Hi all,
Im interested in setting up an internal Battery bank in my 75 TW Landyacht - using Sealed AGMs (probably (2 to 4 6v) and was wanting to know if anyone had advice on best placement?

Over the axles or up front?

(I'm avoiding storing under a bed for safety reasons) but can store in a compartment under my counter top either fore or aft. Not sure what is best for weight?

Between the 2 axles would be the best place.
