Anyone use Funrman Generators

I just got the new Fuhrman 3360 Inverter Generator, it runs fine, but it isn’t getting power to our Airstream. The power led on our cable isn’t coming on, this ever ha-pen to anyone before?

I have no idea what a Fuhrman generator is. Are you using an EMS of some type, either built in or portable? Many EMS systems require that the neutral and ground wire have to be bonded at the generator. It is common to use a bonding plug with the generator.

If the Airstream is not plugged in and you plug some other thing into the generator does it provide power? In other words does the generator put out when not hooked to the trailer?

If the generator is putting out power and you are using a EMS surge protector try plugging the trailer directly into the generator without the EMS.

Now I will google Fuhrman and try to see what I am talking about?

First step is to figure out if the problem is in the generator or in the trailer. Do you have power inside the Airstream if it's plugged in? Does the generator have power coming from the output?

My first check would be the easy stuff, like confirming that all the resets and circuit breakers on the generator are in the 'on' position. Same for the Airstream - make sure all the breakers are on.

So far I’ve done the following
Since we couldn’t boondock, trying to fix this at an RV Park
1. Plugged into 50 amp park power - works
2. Swapped to 30 am adapter and plugged into RV park power - power
3. Powered Generator - plugged into 120 V powered my coffee maker’
4. Put my 30 adapter into generator and plugged into AS - no power??

Checked breakers and fuses, I’m losing it, guess I’m gonna call Firman before I just go buy a Honda/Champion

Does the trailer have a built in EMS? Have you tried a bonding plug in the generator?

I like Bill M’s question.

EMS or surge protectors and inverter generators. Check but you might just need a simple bonding plug for EMS/SP to give the thumbs up to power up.

For 5000 generators and above: theyhave a built in neutral/ground bond.
For below 5000 these require a bond.

I’m embarrassed to ask, but how much residual exhaust/odor will remain if I’ve run the generator off of propane instead of gas? I just bought a Firman 3200 (gas)/2900 (propane). Based on this thread, I want to test it out long before I take it out. I plan to travel with the generator in the rear dinette area to help relieve some tongue weighting on the 25FB.

One of the reasons we use LP, very little exhaust smell.

108lb....Be careful how you load, too heavy in the rear may look good on some...but doesn't play well with the AS.

What are the dimensions on that crate? Do you know the dimensions under a Flying Cloud 25 dinette?

I do not have that dimension.

It is an ActionPacker 24gal, ‎26.5 x 19.3 x 17.4 in, just large enough for our Honda 2000i.
When we got ours it cost less than 30 bucks...but it got so popular that Rubbermade just had to raise the $$$$, kind'a like Airstreams.

The FIRMAN 3300 (W03081) is now being sold by Costco for ~$700 so commentary is likely to appear elsewhere in the forums.
https://www.costco.com/firman-2900w-...100367440.html

Firman is a wholly owned subsidiary of the China National Machinery Industry Corporation marketing/distributing the Chinese company's products in the US. Incorporated in 1999, Firman Power Equipment is a marketing/distribution company based in Arizona offering a broad range of products which includes a selection of generators in various sizes and outputs to the US domestic market.

For fumes and flexibility, I decided to get the dual fuel option so I could run with propane.

I wasn’t sure I trusted myself enough to try and do some after market conversion.

A Honda EU2200i fits in that crate with mods to the top. Your Firman is bigger and would not fit.

We carry our generator in our truck so no gasoline fumes was a big deal. We have a Genconnex propane converted EU2200i. No fumes while in the truck, but that is not related to the crate. We only use propane and it has no residual odor. The crate is useful for security and carrying the hoses.

Thanks. Getting back to the dinette, any idea what largest size crate/dimensions would fit under the table during transit?
