If you get the opportunity to take a few higher resolution shots on your next trip from either side I wont turn them down though. My family is planning our 2020 road trip now and the number of stops without services will dictate if the solar upgrade comes this spring or later. Regardless the photos are definitely helping with planning as is all the great information shared in this thread.
I actually think post #15 on this thread shows Wulfraat's elevated mountings better. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f448...ml#post2323400 They can be compared to my post #3 where I just mounted my panels flat-ish. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f448...ml#post2323157

Wulfraat may have used a taller center mounting bracket than mine? I used the tallest AmSolar brackets for my outer brackets (same as Wulfraat's) but AmSolar's shortest mounting brackets for my center brackets.

Some additional pictures. The outboard brackets are tall and have 5 holes. Top hole is used on all panels to get them as level as possible.

Inward brackets have 3 holes. Most panels are on the second / middle hole for these, with the exception of the panels that cover the pop-out vents for the shower and bathroom, which are in the top holes. This provides just enough clearance for the fan vents to be opened so fan can run / vent.

I believe the inward brackets are 35mm tall. All panels can tilt by undoing the plastic handle on the inward or outward brackets and adding extension bars.

So the AM Solar mounts look outstanding! IMO they are really ideal. But they are also very expensive: 6x80=$480 for my planned 6 panels

I settled on the curved Renogy mounts:
- Can still have lower on inboard and higher on the outboard mounts
- Panels are removable
- Only about $20 per panel

The 'feet' are somewhat small, I'll likely rivet a small piece of aluminum bar to each to provide more surface area.

You will be fine with the Renogy mounts. Or you could build your own for about $60

I could indeed - yours look great! But it's a time/effort balance between work/wife/kids/hobbies.
