Air conditioning on house outlet?

I’ve got a 13500 BTU single dometic ac on my 2019 19 ft Flying Cloud. If I use a 10 gauge electric cord from an outdoors 15 amp 120 volt outlet, a dogbone 15 to 30 amp, then an EMS surge protector, then my 30 amp cord to the Airstream, can I safely run my AC if nothing else is on — no lights, no water heater, and no water pump and only gas setting on refrigerator? I’m moochdocking in a friends driveway at the beach in 90 degree weather with high humidity. Gets down to seventies at night but more concerned about humidity than temperature. Generator causes issues with neighbors. Am I correct that my EMS will prevent damage from low voltage by cutting off power if it fell too low? I have an Easy Start on the AC.

That is the great thing about the easy start, the ability to run it on that regular outlet.

With the EZ start you should be OK.

I'm doing exactly what you're doing right now. Zero problems with the easy start installed.

For interest’s sake I would check actual voltage with a multi meter. At 117+ I never had an issue. At 105v (plugging into an outlet a long way from the house) the fan would run but the compressor wouldn’t start.

The 10 gauge cord helps a lot to reduce voltage drop.

I have no issues running my A/C on a 20 amp circuit. I also use a 10 ga cord; but no easy start.

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

We do just that at our beach rental house across the street. We do not have 30 amp over there. We plug the trailer into a 20 amp circuit in the garage. We do keep the refrigerator on and separately plug it into another circuit in the house. If you go into the refrigerator compartment, unplug from the trailer circuit and run an extension cord from the house. The a/c runs fine with never a problem.

Enough Power!

Yep it should be fine! On my ‘65 this is all it has. I have a small 110 frig and all LED interior lights and no easy start. I can run the AC on high all day as long as nobody turns on a hair dryer, curling iron or anything else with a huge draw.

Motor On!

Did it yesterday. Sometimes a GFI can make things not work due to grounding issues and makes the GFI trip when it shouldn’t but that is not as common. If you keep tripping a GFI at the house, try plugging into a garage opener outlet. Those don’t typically have GFI and should solve that issue (which is not always present).
