Hi slapshift; It seems to me as you have a short or bad ground. Best way to determine it, is to disconnect your converter temporarily. Shut down all switches. Disconnect the positive lead from the battery. Hook up amp meter between the positive lead and the battery post. Turning on one switch at the time, look for the indication of the draw on the Amp meter. Be aware that amp meter is polarity sensitive, it can read in both directions. If your test meter starts at 0 from left to right instead of being in the center of the scale you may have to switch meter leads to get a reading. If you hear that much noise it must be pretty good short or loose ground wire in that area, which is indicated by dimming lights. If this is the case you have a lot of nasty work ahead of you. However until you can address the issue you can leave the affected circuit disconnected if you can do without it. Good luck. "Boatdoc"
