Vintage Switch Knobs on Replacement Light Switches
If anyone has to replace one of the old 3 way light switches and get the ones from vintage trailer supply", don't get rid of the vintage knobs. You can take out the center clip and then use a 5/16" drill bit and drill down 1/2". The hole will be a little bit bigger than the new switch knob. I cut a strip of clear duct tape into a 1/4X1/2" strip and placed inside the switch knob as a shim. It goes on kind of tight so I don't think it will fall off when moving or when it gets hot while sitting. If it does, I will find another way to shim it. Don't use glue or adhesive. You won't be able to get it off if you have to take of the light for bulbs or screen cleaning.
Sorry if the pics end up sideways. They are in the right orientation when I am uploading them and when I preview the post. I have not been able to master the art of getting them done loaded properly.......
