Tripping source GFI

Recently my "tin can" has started tripping my house GFI. The GFI is on a separate 20 amp circuit with a GFI breaker in the main breaker box. The breaker in the box trips immediately upon plugging in. Where do you start on solving this one? Any help would be appreciated. Oh yes, it tripped a campground GFI last time out!

You have a short. Try turning off all of your trailer circuit breakers and systematically turning them on one at a time to try to isolate the problem circuit.

If the circuit trips with all trailer circuits off, the short is between the house outlet ant the circuit breaker box.

If you are able to isolate a particular circuit within your trailer, unplug all devices and systematically plug things back in till the problem device is isolated.

If unplugging everything on the suspect circuit does not stop the trip, then the fault is hard wired in and you are likely going to need the services of a good electrician.

Before you start looking for more complicated reasons, check the fit between plug and socket. A loose fit can cause tripping because it increases the electrical resistance at the connection. I tripped a campground breaker because the socket at the pedestal was worn and my cord didn't plug in tightly.

A worn plug or socket would also help to explain why it's only now becoming a problem, if it wasn't as worn before.

moisture in the exterior outlet and the one for the fridge are common culprits.
