Tail lights

We have a tail light that is rusted out and needs to be replaced. Any ideas on how that can be done? I have attached a picture of the tail light.

I believe that Inland RV has an LED lamp set that is nearly a direct replacement for your tail lights. The only problem is that you loose the fiber optic lamp monitors if your coach is so-equipped.

Good luck with your investigation!

Unfortunately. the that can type tail light was discontinued a couple of years ago.

LED replacements are available.

Many companies have what they call 4 inch LED tail lights, but they are actually larger than 4 1/4 and won't fit.

But, a modifed version is available that fits just fine, but since they are sealed units, the tail light monitor will no longer function.

Thanks. One step down sounds like a light is available - any ideas on how to get the original light out?

There should be 2 or 3 rivets that hold the can in place.

They may be installed backwards, (from the other side) but they can easily be sheared off.

one of mine is so badly rusted in place, I couldn't get it out. those rivets ain't what's holding it in.

lucky for me, its only the reverse light, so it isn't "necessary".

I'm going to be doing some rear floor repairs soon, so I'll have to try to knock it out from inside, while I have the thing torn apart.
