For night vision, it is good to have red lighting.
"No white lights" is a rule at star parties.
I converted the step light and added 3 rows X 1' long LEDs at the back of the step well.
Adding (designing) awning marker lights to save my head.
They will be about 1 meter long and will be powered by
12V tapped off of the step light. I found that u-channel from lows makes a nice aluminum marker light housing. This way they look like they belong on the AS. I will put some outdoor velcro at both ends and hang them on the angled awning poles.
I bought a 3 channel RGB PWM dimmer on Amazon to control brightness (repurposed from an astronomy project).
I also found that white PVC pipe make a great diffuser, but its not so aesthetically pleasing during the day. At night it looks awsome. Sorry its out of focus.
More pics as I get further along.
