Sometimes it can be quicker and/or cheaper to pick up a whole fixture, and transfer the guts to your vintage fixture, than it is to buy a discrete ballast. I recently did this on an older looking camper fixture; the newer replacement would have left the "shadow" of the old fixture visible, including a hole. This is especially true of home and shop fixtures... shop-lights on sale are 1/4 the price of a ballast, go figure. Supply and demand I guess. HIH
