Overhead Halogen lights in '07 Safari

I know that they are 12v, but what is the wattage on the overhead bulbs in the fixtures?

Also, how difficult is it to find replacement fixtures?

Replacement LED light bulbs are available for the halogen ligts at the Airstream online store.

We've had a member put halogens in rated at half that power. Let me look for it... Anybody recall? I think that would be amperage rating. Less light... but half the power consumption. Either is still too power hungry for boondocking battery usage.

We have two fairly generic C-cell powered LED lanterns that are about all the light we use while dry camping.

The original equipment halogens in our trailer were 10Watt. We replaced some of them with 5Watt bulbs, and others with LEDs. Sorry, do not remember the online source for the 5Watt bulbs, but I've found the larger bulbs at Home Depot--not cheap, however.

I found these fixtures at a marine supply in their discontinued stock list online. The fixtures are not an Airstream exclusive item and are quite common in boats. Check a West Marine Supply, I would guess they can get them.

Halogen bulbs are EXPENSIVE, but I have found great deals on these bulbs in garden supply stores that are discontinuing them - less than a buck each. i also use the 5W in the fixtures in my cabinets in my CCD - cooler and less power usage.
