i installed the light above our door

i use construction adhesive to mount it
and outdoor caulking to wrap around the edge and make it water proof


i wired the light to behind the radio as there is plenty of room and easy power

Looks good. I don't recall, I think you posted in the past with questions about mounting this. Did it have a light before? Where did the switch go?

But what I really want to know though, is what direction the light points? Our 2023 GT has the same light and it points off to the left facing it. I'd think it should point straight.

I added this to our punch list when we took our trailer to JC for warranty work. The technician, instead of fixing it said it was "normal". I didn't get to ask what the deal was. I could take it apart and move it I suppose, but maybe there's some purpose pointing it off to the left.

How did you run the wire from above the door to behind the radio?

I added additional led to the stock led. It is much brighter than the stock light

Behind the metal part that is water proof on 3 sides, I drilled a 1/4 " hole to run the wires in through both walls. I used the roof tape to ensure no water ingress

I already installed a cable run above the door to run xm radio. The ant is above the bathroom and xm radio is close to the radio

I drilled a hole in the rear of the cable run track. One end is above the upper cabinet, the other end by the radio
Thus no wires are seen

I will take more photos with one at night and the inside

BTW, I had installed a similar light in my old sport 22fb
It was sold and I needed a similar soln for the fc 25fb

It would be much easier to get a solar powered Mr Beams LED light and mount it above the door. Or, a rechargeable motion activated LED strip with magnets that would be removable for charging or when driving at interstate speeds, or during rainy weather.

IMHO, taking things on and off just seems like another hassle

we have a 2023 classic 33 and the lights assy is fully illuminated, unless your model has partial illumination, which I doubt. I do know they are LED's. That is definitely a warranty repair item to have your dealer fix.

Oh, that light really works?!? The one on our 2018 never did. Too small of an issue to bring back to the dealer and when I looked at it, I saw I'd have to re-caulk everything. So it went to the bottom of the priority list. But maybe before the snow flies - you guys motivated me!

if your light still has the old incandesce bulb, its best to remove it and place LED in it's place. it is very easy to do and many sources to get LED tape

DO NOT buy the cheap Chinese led as they will fail within 1 year

I replaced the incandescent bulb over the door on our 2007 Bambi with an LED bulb. Not great but better than the original.

then learned of the kit offered by LED4RV " Over the Door Spot light for Airstream ODoor56-2 SKU2885" and installed it. What a difference!

I like it so much I am replacing the LED bulb on our 2015 23FB with the kit.
