LED light fixture

Looking to replace fluorescent lights with LED. Would prefer to go fixture route to avoid searching for replacement bulbs. My electrician buddy tells me that is how he does it for his residential customers all the time. Can anyone with some experience with this project give me some suggestions on where to acquire and tips for install, etc?

Thanks

EW--The fluorescent fixture used in your unit are large as well as half flush mount and half recessed. Airstream chose this style because of limited head room and space above the ceiling. It is made by Thin-lite and is a very good light as far as fluorescent goes. Fluorescence's biggest problem is the Ballast. When they get old the lose something that causes the bulbs to burn out. Replacing the Ballast and bulbs is pricey. LEDs are much cheaper, if you get a quality LED.
LED bulbs look like they are plug and play but if you find one that is "plug and play" you will be leaving the problematic ballast in the light , then you will get no power savings. There are some LED bulbs that by-pass the ballast but you have to go inside the light fixture and cut wires.
Since you have to go inside the fixture and cut wires you may as well use LED strips. It is very easy.
LED strips are they very best solution for converting your unit to LED.
