LED for entry step light
I've changed to LED lights on about everything except the entry step light on the 25FB. Anyone know how to open it?

I have a 2009 FC 23, the parts manual indicates the step light is LED. AS part number 5122252.

I need a new one on our '08 I think probably because the PO left it on too long, but I can't see how to open it or take it off either.
I sure would like to find out how to do it.

ditto on needing info on how to crack it open! I have successfully avoided breaking it open thus far but sure would like to take a look see in there to make sure it is sealed up properly. I have some dear friends who spent a pile of money to get a leak and floor rot remediated due to a step light leaking. These things sometimes reside in the runoff from the awning and get a frequent leak test from mother nature.

Maybe that's why it doesn't seen to be meant to be opened. It is sealed all around with caulk.

OK, but how does it mount? There are no screws are rivets visable. Do they install it in the skin and then build the trailer around it?

So, no one here knows how to open it, or remove it?

I believe it is a simple compression fit. Little plastic tabs apply pressure to the hole keeping it in place.
You could always give the mothership a ring and confirm on Monday...

Okay; let's nominate someone to call Monday as Atomic as recommended.
Second thought, I volunteer to call on Monday and report back.

Okay Dan, thanks. The next question is....did it come with an LED bulb?
I don't really want to break the caulk seal around my light to open it. I'm on the road and the caulk is at home.

The light comes with two screws (not shown) and the white thing on the left is a sealed case with the LEDs inside. I don't think you can get it apart to change the LEDs. You pop off the metal (it makes it toast) and then you unscrew the two screws. Then when you go back with the new light you will need to seal inside the screw holes, and where the wires go. Once in place you pop the new metal case on.
This was a good question to ask. I had always wondered how it can off myself, when I first saw this light, the first year they used it. I took this picture and updated it on my site too. I was scratching my head too the first year I saw it. :-)
