how to wire dimmer switch

Hey yall. Has anyone wired one of these dimmer switches before? Pics attached. Two questions:

1. How to get the wire to fit the terminals? I have to run 10 AWG to cover the load of my puck lights, but it looks like there's no way 10 AWG will fit in the terminal. Any tricks?

2. What is the proper wiring? Originally I was just going to run pos/neg into pos/neg terminals, then daisy chain all of my puck lights like it shows in the wiring diagram (photo attached). But I'm reading things on Amazon about needing to ground the lights back into the switch in order for the dimmer to work.

Thanks all!
