Ghost lights

I’m taking the doggos for a walk at night and I notice the there are 4 leds of the passenger tail light just barely illuminated. Very weird. Not plugged into the truck. I decided to check the trailer connector. I had a rubber cap protecting the end. The connector was full of blue green corrosion. I gave it a blast with the garden hose and it all was flushed out. Lights we out again. Lesson: don’t put a protective cap over a wet connector.

Yup ! bought a cover cap for the 7-way cord and deleted it a month later because of the corrosion. Better to let it hang face down and dry out after rain. - brad

A few months ago we noticed our running lights were not on while driving. We cleaned the 7-pin and they worked. We cleaned all exterior connections and sprayed with Corrosion-X. So far everything is staying clean.

The reason I almost immediatlyrealized what it was, was because I was considering making a connector to power the running lights while parked.
