Exterior Porch Light...please weigh in!

My '66 Safari did not have the traditional 'scare' light, so I purchased one from VTS.

So...

Do I install it in the 'usual' spot, as in photo 1

or

do I install it higher, as in photo 2, to cover up the old holes from the P.O.'s old light, which was gone before purchase? I'm concerned that it may look out of place.

Thanks for any advice!

Karen
