Changing Defective LED Tailight

Anyone change out one of the newer LED taillights? I have one that is no longer displaying all lights. I looked and am unsure if I can somehow pull the lens cover or have to remove the entire light assembly.
Thanks

The bezel just snaps off.
When you get it off and unscrew the light you will see the 3 wires going into some sealer. With the new light in hand I would cut those wires and use butt connectors. I would NOT dig into that sealer and invite leaks.

If you can send a close up picture of that light I can tell you the part number

If you pull the wires out far enough, you will get to the butt splices you are about to add. At least that's how it was on mine. Look at the wires on your replacement. If there are connectors, you know. Just my opinion, Mike

Okay I gently pried down from the top and stopped as there was no give on the lens. Using small plastic bar and fingers. Any hints

If you look at the picture Dan put up, you can see where the snaps are that hold the trim piece in place. They are not easy to get at, and are separate from the lens. I used a small screwdriver. Made some slight marks on the trim. Be patient or you will likely make bigger marks. The trim piece is fairly inexpensive if it comes to that.

I have a small set of tools that almost look like dental tools with a hook and I was able to pry under the bezel at the bottom which is where the snap/catch is. It did leave a little mark as well but when it went back , it went on with the mark facing down. You could not see it.
