Brake Lights Question

Hi All,

I have a 2019 Flying Cloud. Today, while traveling, I learned that both brake lights on the left side were not working.

This is my first time replacing lights, so I'm curious about something: Is it unusual for both lights to go out, or do they somehow work in tandem? Or could my problem be more complicated?

I would really appreciate some insight!

Regards,
Tom Stephens

From experience, I would suggest checking your power cord where you plug into the back of your truck. Push it in and rock it around a bit and see if that fixes it. You might need to clean the contacts. That’s solved the problem with my right side brake lights both going out.
Also, the power cord for my 2016 FC was rather loose in my F2 50. I wrapped about a quarter inch of gorilla tape around the end of the plug to tighten things up a bit and was able to get better connections that way too.

Thank you. I’ll give it a try. That makes sense!

Plugged in yesterday on my inbound trip home. You were right. The connection to the truck was weak. I had to wiggle it a bit, but it works.

I'm a little worried that it will come lose again during a travel, but I'll watch for it.

Thanks!

Good to hear. Just noticed we are neighbors.
I was having trouble with my trailer power cord being too loose in the truck connector. I was getting dash light warnings that the trailer was disconnected. That meant no brakes too!
I took about a 1/2 inch wide strip of gorilla tape and wrapped it around the end of the cord to tighten things up. Took care of the problem

Neighbors

I saw that, too. I'm on the DB golf course. Camper parked on Bixler.

I'm concerned about the electrical connection, so I might take your advice about taping the connector.

Thanks.
