Brake lights

My 1986 Sovereign has a brake and a turn signal out, both on the left side, and I have changed the bulbs, though the originals did not look burnt. How do I trouble shoot this? I am not even sure where the wires are run?!

There is a good chance the ground to the socket has rusted take a wire and temporally touch the socket and ground.

What I did was just solder a new jumper wire and no more problems.

If the tail light still works, it's not the ground. Check to see if the prongs on the connecting cord are clean. Also check to see if there is power coming from the TV. The problem might not be on the trailer.
