After reading many many posts on the design, materials, and inevitable failings of the cone light, I am reaching out with the hopes that a forum member would be interested in making a repair to the damaged light from my 68 Caravel.

The usual problem, ball slips out of the socket, single cone light.
Would rather not use glue. This kind of repair is outside of my skill set.

If someone by very rare chance has a functioning one let me know, I am very interested.

So if you have found a sound method and are interested in making a repair, for which I would be most grateful, send me a message.

Ball & socket...because the lamp head is adjustable?

I had a Nav screen that wouldn't stay adjusted, ball & socket worn & loose, but had no broken parts.

I MacGyver'd it by cutting a few finger tips off a nitrile glove fitting them over the ball and snapping it back in the socket.
POI...I keep a few finger tips in the glove box for on the run repairs.👍

A picture is worth a decent cone light...pls post. I might have a versos of your lamp that still has a tight ball socket. If so, it's yours. There are several boxes of obscure light fixtures in my studio. While I think I know what you need, better to be sure.

Here are a few photos, I have a few others if need be.

The cone snaps in place, but the jarring nature of travel dislodges the cone leaving the fixture hanging by the wire while driving.

You might be able to crimp the socket with the ball in place, by using pliers with a rounded nose, such as hose grip pliers. I might be able to help you with a used fixture. Just sent one to another forum member.
