access recessed LCD lights

simple frustrating question. what is the secret to getting the covering off the overhead recessed lcd lights that I have in my 03 CCD so that I can replace burned out bulb?

Pry open between the outer ring and the next ring; the one that has the glass lens attached to it. You will need something that is very thin to fit and then pry out that inner ring.

I used a box cutter blade, and it seemed to work ok. Wear safety glasses.
