70's Argosy 24

I inherited a project. It had been sitting for years. I plugged 110 power to it a few years ago and I recall the exterior lights working and I believe the 12 volt interior ceiling lights worked as well.

At some point, the 12 volt lights stop working and the exterior lights are not working as well.

The RV connection was broken as well. I recently put on a new 7 pin connector. When I plug it to the RV connector on the truck, the 12 volt ceiling lights work and I can hear a noise at the brakes when I hit the brake controller. I know the RV connector on the truck is working properly. I tested it. The exterior lights do not work when I turn the headlights on the truck. None of the tail lights work regardless of whether I push the brakes or use the turn signals.

I checked the fuses in the silver box in the box and they all seem to be fine.

I will get a 12volt light and see where I have power but I thought it might be worth asking if there some other fuse or fuseable link that might be located somewhere else? Is there a switch that would disable all of the exterior lights? I recall these lights being on so I don't believe that every single exterior bulb is burnt. Is there a separate ground for the exterior lights that would kill everything?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks
Bill

Did you check the fuse in the tow vehicle?

Yes. There is the correct power at the trailer connection for all 7 connections

Try wiggling the biggest glass fuse in the silver box (converter/charger). You might even try making a jump wire to hook on to a top and bottom blade of the biggest glass fuse holder. If the largest fuse in the panel is bad or not getting good connection, you have no 12volt from the battery.

Your outside lights are most probably ground issues on each lamp base.

Does anyone have a electric diagram of the trailer?

Where are the grounds located?

The ground for the outer lights is the shell. One of the screws of each light base runs through a ground bar. The screw then completes the circuit when it makes contact to the shell. Do you have a working battery installed in the trailer? If not try putting the trailer on the ball of your tow vehicle. You can pass the ground from the TV to the trailer. Without either a working converter or a charged 12volt battery connected to the trailer, there is no ground present on the trailer. If your converter is good, plugging into 110 should provide enough ground for lights to work but the older converters (univolt) are meant to supply 12volt through the coach battery.

I actually had every single bulb burnt out on my 2014 cargo trailer. I went to replace the plug as I thought I damaged it spent I'd guess 20 hrs screwing around with it flabbergasted on the wiring I screwed around over the course of 6 months off and on. Finally broke down went to a trailer repair facility to get them to change my plug 15 min shop rate....

Well it took them an hr total, they had problems also haha. Eventually every bulb was changed. Also grounded my trailer properly which it wasn't from fzctory
