63 Tradewind tail lights
About a year ago I purchased a 24' 1963 Tradewind. I have noticed the tail lights are placed not on the flat of the back but instead at the beginning of the radius. Looking at all of the archive photos and various Airstream publications I find no others with the tail lights at this placement. Could there have been an error at the time of manufacturing ? Thanks for your help.

Hi Tim:
No error. If you look around some more, you will find many other Airstreams with tail lights in the same location, which indicates your trailer was made in California. Ohio built trailers from the same years, roughly the early 1960s, had the taillights on the outside edges of the flat rear panel under the rear window. Nice looking Tradewind!

Tim.
Upon further review, it appears that your Airstream may have a bad axle as well as rear end separation.

That's Andy for ya tells you somethings wrong but does not explain why. He has done this to me too. Just replace the axle its well worth the money. Plus you will not have to worry about something going wrong.

Many times, I don't have time to go into detail.
I try as often as I can, but the time keeps clicking away. I also receive almost 100 phone calls a day.
That in itself, restricts my computer time.
