1987 Taillights

I have a 1987 Excella and want to upgrade the taillight assembly. The bezel could be replaced but also is salvageable, is there a replacement? The lenses are shot and I can find those. I am going to replace the light fixtures with LED, any recommendations for this? The cans are in good shape so I will reuse them. The concern I have is is there supposed to be a gasket between the light cans and the bezel? The prior owner used massive amounts of sealant so I can’t tell is there was some type of gasket between the can and bethel or not. Last is there a diagram of the taillight assembly I can look at?

Thanks in advance....

I have an 86 Limited. I wanted the brightness of modern LEDs for tail lights, turn signals, and brake lights.

I went to the local trailer store and found red LED tail lights and brake lights available. I don't remember the manufacturer, but they looked about right; like 4" round. I then had to trim a bit of plastic in order to get them to fit into my trailer's bezels and fixture. But they did. These lights came with the electronics to convert my 12v input to the necessary voltage and amperage for the LEDs.

You can kinda see the LED lights in this photo of my faded out vinyl stripe.

I've been pleased on how bright they are. Thank goodness you're not an old man like me and can handle this project with ease.

Thanks David for the info. I will check it out locally for the lights. Did you by chance separate the buckets from the bezel? If so did you see a gasket of some type.

Go to Out-Of-Doors Mart and look at Sealed LED Light Kit for old Monarch. They come without lenses, but those are available as well.

I didn't separate the bezel from the bucket. I don't know if there is a gasket under there, but I imagine there is. I do know I had a tail light fixture start leaking rain water. My fault, the attachment screws had worked loose.
