1973 Overlander right turn signal

I just got back from Illinois pulling my 1973 Overlander. I decided it needed to come home. When I hooked up the pig tail and tested all my exterior lights I found out that my right blinker would not work. I hooked up emergency lights on the back and the right blinker would not work on it either. I am think it must be coming from the truck.

It does sound like a truck issue. But prior to doing anything else, spray some contact cleaner in your truck plug, and into your trailer end. Plug and unplug it several times. I have found that often one of the sets of contacts gets corroded over the winter and will not work in the spring. It is so common that I almost always plug and unplug my cord several times whenever the trailer has not been used for a while.

Are both brake lights working? Does your tow vehicle have separate brake lights and turn signal? If you have separate brake lights and turn signals the vehicle should have some kind of box that combines them into one signal. If the tow vehicle has them together , they are combined by the turnsignal switch. But like idroba sail I would check the plug.

I took the Overlander in to have the right blinker light fixed. We found out that the fuse for that light is good and there isn't any electricity going to the fuse. I guess I will have to take the truck in and have it fixed. The trailer lights are fine and worked when they tested them.

I had them check my brakes and grease everything.
