I may be in the minority but I'm not a fan of sprayers. Extra connections are opportunities for leaks and failures. Mine often jiggles off it's mount en-route.

Hi, in my Safari, my shower is close enough that I can use it instead of a sprayer.

This may be a bit more than the standard RV can handle.

Best question of the day goes to.......
We all love the "toilet" when the Time comes...
Look up on line the shipping weight of a plastic one and a Porcelain one I bet it's not a crazy add on to the total weight.

And be sure to horde all the toilet paper you can find. Doesn’t matter if it RV safe, septic safe, one-ply, twenty-ply, etc. Stash the tp in all the cabinets, under the bed, and in your tow vehicle. The more you have, the better. TP will protect you during your travels. TP can be used a currency.

Last spring we installed the Dometic 320 in our International WITH the sprayer. At first my wife stated that she rather I didn't order one with the sprayer, but after using it for a month on the road, she loves it and is glad we have it.

Never used a sprayer, so no experience. Certainly in the ceramic camp and want a full swirl flush operation unit. We upgraded our boat to a push button electric with macerator. That likely will be our upgrade path, if and or when. While the foot valve flush operation works, and is likely the most reliable, we'd really like to return to the ease of button pushing. So research is ongoing - moved to a lower priority since the flush ball gasket replace went well.
Think if I was worried about weight and wanted to stay plastic, that I would just remove and replace with new when cleaning the plastic became compromised through degradation. However, I suspect that the slight weight increase of going to ceramic can be accommodated with other gear load out placement.
Hope to see you down the road with a smile. Pat

Friends: I have an '86 Argosy squarestream I've come to use as a settled, not moving about home. Does anyone have experience replacing the toilet with a standard home version that drains directly into a septic system? I'd like to destroy as little as possible just in case I do need to pass it along after I'm gone. These other ideas on this thread have already given me some good thinking and thanks for that

With the residential toilet you could install standard house plumbing with code compliant drain slope. I would think that running black waste continuously through a holding tank could result in a build up. Periodic cleanup and flushing of the tank might be necessary to mitigate that issue. We kind of operate our RV toilet that way in that we do not wait until the tank is full to dump. But we do a regular back flush when n we do dump.
Recently became aware that a failed valve on the RV toilet fills it and floods the area. It's not like a house toilet that has a continuous drain if the tank valve leaks. Had heard about folks turning off the shore water when leaving the RV. We at one time, turned off the toilet valve to stop a leak. But never put two and two together to understand the flooding risk. Revisiting our rig practices.
Anyone got a solution to a failed toilet flush valve - other than shutting off water or very good preventive maintenance. Is this a great excuse to upgrade the toilet. Never had the issue, yet. You?

Walking around and thinking - light bulb - others have told us that you can use the fresh tank and water pump. Turn it on when water is needed and off when water is not needed/rig is unattended. So, if concerned, an easy answer exists. Only have to modify your use. Pat

I have a 2018 AS Sport 22 with a Thetford plastic toilet which seems very cheap and I hate it. It is a tight fit with 9 1/2” from the bolt center to the back. Is there someone with a similar model as mine that has changed to porcelain unit?
