Toilet Removal

What is the best way to remove the toilet. I see one bolt near the bottom front that is hard to get to with a wrench or socket. Is there another bolt somewhere holding it in? I have a '70 Caravanner if the models vary.

There are two bolts on most of the Thetford toilets of that era. One in the front, one in the back, not on the centerline of the toilet but like at 11 and 5. I have not done the removal/replacement in a long time, but I think there is a plastic plug on the top of the toilet under the seat that can be removed and a socket with a long extension and a swivel can be used to get the (I think rear) nut off the bolt. The other one you get at with fun and cuss words from the pedal area. Fuzzy memory here, I block out unhappy things in my life. The Thetford net site may have a support page which tells all.

The front bolt is easy to remove. Press down on the pedal and place a water bottle in the open hole to the black tank and release the pedal. That will give you access to the forward nut. You should be able to reach around the back and remove that with a wrench. The socket through the plug method has never worked well for me. Make sure you have a new seal when installing.
