Toilet
Almost done with gutting. 73 Tradewind. Going shopping. Have read up on composting toilet vs. regular one. Totally confused. Since installing all new tanks would have for more fresh and grey if no black. Having said that, very confused. Help, comments and thoughts needed!

I have a '72 Streamline that I am doing a Full Monte on. It originally came with only a Black tank, no Grey. I was going to rig an additional tank for grey, but am now sold on a Thetford cassette toilet, and making the black tank a grey tank.
The downside is this - I will have a new and additional access panel on the outside of my Streamline, where the cassette comes out. I've decided that this is not a museum piece, I'm OK with that. Much less hassle than adding a grey tank in the frame.

Frankly, when all is said and done I prefer water/gravity removal of human waste.
I wouldn't own a trailer where I had to tote that stuff out.
I understand that others see things differently, just adding my .02.
In a total renovation case, adding a tank or two and its associated plumbing ain't really a big project.
Brevi tempore!

Check out this site, the Wynns have posted several videos on composting toilets (which they love, by the way)

Frankly, when all is said and done, I think I would rather go with a bucket toilet over another kind of non flush toilet, at least I could utilize single use trash bags...

I have heard here in NM there are restrictions on disposing composted human waste. Would this be a problem with an RV composting toilet in other locations?

Human waste either liquid or solid must be disposed of properly. Many seem to forget this. Dumping urine in the bushes so the next campers kids can play in it is wrong, so is dumping the contents of a composting toilet in a trash can or elsewhere. Even dumping a porta potti in the cg toilet is not allowed many places now. That's why they have dump stations. If you are way out with little chance of others coming in contact with your stuff, then it's your decision and conscience.
