Thetford Galaxy removal

OK, I have searched and not been able to find step by step directions for removing the toilet in my 1970 Sovereign. The flush valve works great, but the supply line is leaking. Wouldn't repairing the leak be much easier if I removed the toilet? If so, how do I get at the bolts? How many bolts are there? I can see the front bolt, but I don't understand how to access the rear bolt or bolts. My toilet doeas not have the removeable access hole cover on the seat. AN EXPLODED DRAWING WOULD BE VERY NICE...
Thanks,
Greg

Just pulled the toilet from a 71. Knuckles are still bare. After the two bolts were finally out I couldn't get the suppy line loose - ended up cutting the copper feed line off.

For the reinstall - bought a flex head wrench from Lowes that will fit down into the rear bolt hole. Trailer has all copper plumbing but will replace the feed line with reinforced hose that is used to supply dishwashers to get enough length.

Good luck.

Greg,

Two bolts - one in the front you found and one opposite in the rear - marked by the red plastic inserted into the bolt hole.

Your post said you did not have an access on the top of the toilet. Check to be sure you don't have this. If you go this way you need a 12" extension for your socket wrench and a swivel attachment. You will also need a deep well socket - which I didn't have with me while removing our toilet.

Here is the wrench that I bought to reinstall the toilet next spring. You will also need a new gasket (house equivilent of a wax ring) when you reinstall.

Good luck with your project.
