I have problem described in Airstream video I recently watched. Hot water in sinks but none in shower. Went to take off handle to replace valve but unable to remove screw with standard allen wrench or metrix allen wrench. None would fit!!! Either too big or too small. I had someone else look at it to make sure it wasn't me. Same result. The handle has never been removed since we purchased the Airstream new in 2008. Now what?
Glad I found your question -- just came back from a showerless trip (thankfully short) for the same reason; hot water at sink, but not shower.
Are you saying the shower (cartridge) valve needs to be replaced? Haven't seen the Airstream video you're referring to. If that's all it is, I'll be happy.

It's an oddball size Allen, like an 11/64" or some such. Expanded Allen wrench sets will have the correct wrench.
Yes, you need a wrench set with more sizes. I ran into this when changing out the cartridge in one of my sinks at home. I finally found that I had a T allen wrench that fit the set screw.
