Tell me again, why this is better than the original shower door that comes with the AS? Seems the "issues" discussed here (silicon sweep tearing and spacer on lower hinge) are pretty simply remedied with suggestions here; add a spacer/washer to the lower hinge if needed; remove the silicon sweep if torn and don't worry about it...water will not be leaking out the bottom of the door onto your floor.

Because it’s a product that serves a function as intended, doesn’t break and doesn’t require tinkering to do so. I like camping w my Aistream, not rubbing a rv repair shop.

After watching the Youtube on this product and the reviews, I can see why you like it. Impressive replacement/upgrade for sure! Thanks.

When we bought our 2002 19' new, it came with a roll-up shower door very similar to the Nautilus door. That door has served extremely well ever since. Great shower door to have in a trailer.

Absolutely. At first it looks so flimsy. But they work great!

Ok i bought the replacement shower sweep from Woodland Airstream, now how do you get the old one out and new one in? do you need to remove the vertical frames? I found small screws at the bottom of the frame, but was unable to remove the screw on the hinge side (screw is frozen) nor able to remove the vertical frame on the swing side (tight press fit to the bottom frame)
The remains of the sweep do move back and forth within the bottom frame, do you just pry it out and press the new one in?
Any hints? In the photo, the dings in the aluminum were apparently courtesy of the factory.

4th Airstream; 3 different year 25's and now our 28' FCTmodel AS; we stopped replacing the sweep years ago...not a big deal...little, if any, water on the floor. We do put a shower mat down, but really, wife is the one who said we do not need...who am I to argue!

After agonizing on repairing or replacing my shower door due to the poor hinge design on top and bottom of the door, held on by 2 insufficient metal SS screws, "screwed" into the aluminum extrusion which holds the glass and door frame, I was able to repair and re-install. I was looking at the Youtube suggestion for the retractable door, which seems like a great alternative, but wanted to keep the OEM door if possible. I visited a glass company who sells shower doors in Round Rock area, and explained my situation showing the broken thread from the screw in the extrusion with out the hex/Philips broken off. Getting the thread out was the challenge of using existing extrusion from the shower door out. He suggested to drill a perpendicular hole opposite side of the screw, near the end and gently force the end of the screw out of the extrusion by tapping with a punch & hammer. Then replace with "longer" SS screw...worked like a charm! Was able to get the door back on, put a piece of nylon on under the shower door by the hinge as a safety for closing going forward so all that weight isn't resting just on those screws...like I said, poor design for an AS...but all is good... for now!

Hi Steve
You do have to remove a screw and then it just slides out. I think it is the one in your picture, but unfortunately, I am not near my trailer right now.

Suggest seeing my post #23 and #30 above, if your still worried about replacing that sweep. As I mention, been doing this for a long time now, without installing/replacing the sweep and no issues. You may have some water drip on the floor after a shower, but that is not from the spray; its residual from the shower door, our experience. The sweep gets worn from the door sill at the bottom, which is worsened by the door hinges which will start to sag due to the weight of the door on those two small, "pittifull" screws they use for the hinge on the door to the frame. This is a "residential shower door"; not designed for an RV...AS should have fixed/replaced this door with an RV capable door years ago...(IMHO of course! )

I agree; the sweep is really unnecessary. After replacing it twice due to damage, I just decided to leave it off. The door now operates much more smoothly and we've had no issues with water leakage. We do use a bath mat so we don't track wet feet on the trailer floor.

OK thanks, i remove the screw, but nothing slides or drops out. it's solidly stuck together. I'll keep futzing with it a bit, then perhaps just give up and leave it as is as many here have suggested. Moisture is starting to affect the finish below the shower door, so that's why i wanted to address it.

Steve- "if" your determained to take apart the aluminum frame, be aware that the "glass" has a silicon type "gasket" that you may not see, inside the aluminum frame. So taking out the bottom screw (your picture) and the top screw of that aluminum end piece with the door handle on it, can be achieved by gently prying the frame on that side, away from the glass edge...you will see the silicon gasket which fits inside the aluminum frame...in fact it fits inside the aluminum frame all the way around the glass, and may not be seen until you remove the aluminum from the glass edges..
We just took ours totally apart because of the upper broken hinge screw I mention in above post. Removing both scres on the handle side, will give you access to sliding out the lower "sweep" you want to replace. We have done it prior...now, we just don't use the sweep. Reason? 1) Not really needed to keep in water inside the shower during use. 2) Can become an "obsticle" to opening, if/when your upper hinge screw bends from use over time...thats what happened to me. Mine is a 2018, 28FC. The "sweep" issue however, happened on our 25 also...so I am a bit familier with the shower door issues now!
