Shower door stuck

The shower door on my FC30 is hanging up at the bottom of the door where it is scraping the bottom door sill. I have long since lost the rubber seal so it’s metal on metal. The door is not loose on the hinge side but seems to have lowere itself a bit vertically. I can grab it and lift it about 1/8 “ straight up to get it open/closed. Any thoughts?

I found the problem. The small 6 x 32 machine screw that holds the door frame together at the top of the door sheared off. Replaced screw, all is well.

I have the symptoms you describe, but I'm not sure I have the same cause, as screws appear to still be in place. I ended up going to the hardware store and buying a nylon spacer 3/4" in diameter and 3/8" thick. Put it under the door's pivot point in the channel at the base of the door opening. That raised the door enough to correct the problem.

As long as my wife is happy with it I'm happy with it.

Screw was in place but broken

My screw was in place as well. But it was broken. Tried to tighten. Nothing. Turned out the 1.5 inch screw was broken about a half inch from the head

My fix

We had this problem and I tried everything to fix it. I got a hold of the manufacturer and they sent me some new parts and I completely rebuilt the door. It lasted a while. I tried every possible shim. I bought a cutting board and cut it into different shapes. The sweep at the bottom wouldn’t last at all. Finally took the three screws out of the jam side, raised the whole jam about 3/8 of an inch, drilled three new holes and secured with the screws. Took about 10 minutes. Knock on wood, but it’s been perfect ever since.

When we were at JC they installed this fix. We hate it. It requires lifting the shower door by the edge to open and close which is not so easy when inside the shower. I don't know of anything better, but seems like they should have figured out a way so the sagging doesn't happen, this is more or less a kludge.
