Shower cartridge replacement

Can anyone tell me what model cartridge I need for a Moen one handle shower in my 95 Excella?

Moen made several varieties and some were better/cheaper versions of the same model. For example, they make a brass and plastic version of their single handle cartridge. When mine failed, I replaced with the brass and they lasted forever (as in I never needed to replace again). You can go with a generic brand too, but I haven't had much luck with these cheaper versions. You likely need to pull it out to figure out which you need, but it is probably one of these. Plenty of videos on YouTube if you need to see how to do it.

all MOEN cartridge's are FREE for LIFE

take it out, go the any big box or plumbing store
show then the cartridge and they give you one for free.
if they want to charge you, call MOEM and give the the store name that wants your money

I just replaced one of those for a neighbor in her house, video showed all but the cost of that Moen cartridge. Over $50 ! at a certain unnamed home center ouch, and no time for alternate supplier water for house was shut off.

Thank you so much for the video!! I got the new part at Lowe’s and did it. Took a couple try’s as I had the black piece in the wrong way so it sit off street up instead of down. But I can shower once again!
