Changing the gasket is a multi-minute, low cost endeavor. A toilet swap is considerably more time and expense. However, a bride may prefer a ceramic bowl over plastic.

If you have time you could try what I did with my '89 Excella when the bowl wouldn't hold water. I added cooking oil and let it sit in the bowl to soften the seal. It worked - but I did it over the winter. But, hey, it's cheap and may work. Give it a shot !!

I replaced the flapper seal in my 99 Excella. It took me a few hours, but could be done faster. I bought a rebuild kit at ODM that had every thing that is needed. Yes, the toilet has to come out.

Try this before you do all that replacing

I had a similar problem in our Airstream. I tried this product Thetford RV Drain Valve Lubricant 15843, 24 oz. Bottle and it fixed it right up.

Murphy's Oil Soap does a good job also, both on the toilet valve and the back and gray water holding tank valves....

If the toilet bowl isn’t aligned exactly over the flapper, the bowl can leak.

I fixed a leaky bowl by bumping the bowl a bit.

Got it lined up right and ... hasn’t leaked since.

no water in toilet

We have been there, a lot! We had a 2001 25' Excella, and the toilet never would hold water from day one. The dealer tried to fix it, and it worked for awhile. they would not replace the unit saying it was a maintenance issue.(stuff can get into the groove where the valve slides in) I made a small
"T" handle clean out tool from some stiff wire, and that worked for that issue.I pulled the whole unit off while camping and found the big seal on the stem had been installed backwards. Fixed that too! After 14 years of misery, I just bought a new toilet. Problem solved. New trailer has a Dometic, and I have had no issues.
