Macerator toilet pros vs cons

I have an opportunity to get my hands on a dometic sealand macerator toilet for next to nothing from a local business that converts 53 foot cargo trailers into honey wagons for movie sets etc.
My question is do I need it? I'd be installing it in my 1960 Overlander which at the time is original with the above floor black tank. I've been reading up on these type of toilets and I guess it would help save black tank space if I was to use the dry flush.
I mainly boondock so tank space is critical.
All comments welcomed.
Thanks
Mike

I had one in a boat and they pull a lot of current. I doubt it will save any volume, the main reason I had it was because the toilet was below the holding tank and the 'stuff' had to be pumped up and into the top of the tank.
