Leaking toilet flapper

Finally got to dewinterize and all is well except the antifreeze in the toilet was dry and now it won't hold water. Is there a way to restore that? Thanks!

They make a product for that:
https://www.amazon.com/Thetford-Toil...002NSU0ZW?th=1

If it doesn't work, replacing the rubber seal is not that difficult.

Pour some vegetable oil in the bowl and work it in with the water turned off.

The new toilets are shipped with plumbers silicone grease. It is very slick. We tried the Thetford conditioner, to no avail. I'd replace the seal then grease it up.

Hi

Depending on the toilet you have, the usual supply stores can sell you a new seal. Best guess is that the seal is fine. You pull it off the flapper ( being careful not to drop it in the tank ). Once it is off you can see a bit of buildup on the rubber. Once that is removed, re-grease the gasket to flapper joint and the seal area around the flapper to toilet area. That should do the trick.

I don't put AF in toilet for that very reason, olive oil, or toilet seal lube only over the Winter.

Others have other opinions but I have found NO RV AF that plays well with the toy seals over time.

Try cleaning the seal with a fairly stiff brush and applying the oil or lube, put enough to cover and let sit overnight.

I had his problem on my 2019. It went to the dealer several times because the seal wouldn’t seat. Ultimately they replaced the entire toilet.

I couldn't get the seal on my toilet to set properly even after trying all the recommendations noted here. It was worth the cost of a new toilet to start fresh. Two were shipped from Amazon; both damaged. However, I was able to cannibalize parts to get one fully operational toilet. I sent the damaged one back to Amazon. Installation was very easy. I suspect that the previous owner may have damaged the plastic flapper, which cannot be replaced.
