Kitchen Sink

Recently found that kitchen sink is sinking out of countertop. 2019 Classic 33’. The wood adhered to bottom-side of countertop ( which sink is attached to) is losing its adherence and as a result the sink is settling. The epoxy/caulk between sink and countertop is broken and we have a 1/4 - 1/2 inch gap between them. Right now, we have wedged the sink in place with wood block under sink. Heard from Airstream that this has happened to many classics. Anyone else had this problem?

Just discovered this in our 2019 30’ Classic RBQ last week. Year 5 seems to the magic year for us. Pinhole in alde boiler, bent axles requiring replacement, sink dropping, water tanks starting to drop and more. Most things I can fix and as I dig into I find issues where it was installed wrong. On the tanks, airstream had driven 3/4 of the fasteners to the point of stripping threads.

The sink fastening system is subpar. I’ll have to deal with that when we get back from our current trip.

This trip is the trial trip after replacing the axles ourselves. Dexter wouldn’t honor their warrant but sent me a set of complete axles as “good faith”. Just meant they didn’t cover labor which was ok since we did it ourselves. The axles were apparently bent before we purchased it (probably in transit to the dealer).

Curious about the axles; how did you know they were bent and how come that only became a problem after five years? I've been thinking about this a bit because I want to get our new-to-us 2020 Classic lifted.

The tires wore very gradually but consistently. I saw it but didn’t recognize the warning signs in time. Not sure it would have changed anything thing as I’ve been very unhappy with the dealers service center. Despite denying the warranty, Dexter sent new complete axles ready to bolt on. I changed them out myself so labor wasn’t an issue.

The wear pattern was only on the roadside, but on both axles. It was Dexters determination that the axles were bent. They would have covered the warranty but I would have had to send the axles in to them for analysis. It was easier just to take their offer of free replacements rather than have the trailer down for months in some dealers lot.
