Exterior Shower - no pressure

We had a 23fb with an exterior shower which we used a couple of times to hose off the kids. I don't remember the water pressure being an issue (not great but usable). We now have a 25FB and the exterior shower is almost un-usable. However, the shower unit seems to have changed slightly between our 2011 23fb and our 2014 25fb. I'm just curious if anyone else has noticed low pressure on their exterior showers.

Thanks

Take the hose and head loose at each connection, there may be trash in the hose from the factory.

JD

Interesting. We have a 2014 Sport 22FB. I have never opened the outside shower compartment, but will check it out now that you indicate there may be a problem. I guess there is a shower hose in there! I am one of those guys that wants something to work, even if I rarely use it.

Ours works fine (assuming good pressure into the trailer or the water pump.) You probably have some blockage.

Pull hose all the way out to see if it is kinked. Jim

Well we went camping this weekend, but I forgot to mess with the shower. Ok I'm not being honest.....I was just too lazy to get out of my chair. Anyway when I got home I took the shower apart to look for trash. No trash but I found a couple of problems. I'm not sure what order the pictures will show up on my post but:
1 picture shows the outside of the shower head with a lever to temporarily turn off the water
1 picture shows the mechanism for turning off water temporarily. There is a little plunger that water pressure pushes up to allow water to flow. However the amount of space around the plunger is very small.
1 picture shows where the shower hose connects to the controls. There is maybe a 1/8" hole to allow water into the hose.

I removed the plunger from the head. I don't really need the ability to temporarily shut off the water. If this doesn't help with the pressure I may drill a larger hole where the hose connects.

I do plan on upgrading to the stainless steel shower unit at some point. These adjustments just need to hold me until I can upgrade.Click image for larger version

Ok, checked outside shower this past weekend. Pressure very poor. No blockage in hose. I use an exterior pressure regulator in addition to the one built in to the Airstream. Will remove that and try again.

I tried my shower using the water pump after removing that "plunger" in the shower head, and the pressure was much better. I suspect the pressure will be even better with a city water hookup (versus the water pump pressure).

You got me thinking………

Is the problem not enough pressure, not enough water, or both?

Would more pressure from city water, just make the water shoot farther?

And would the bigger orifice just allow more volume of water?
